LG KC780 - 8 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA PHONE

LG Electronics , a worldwide technology and design leader in mobile communications , announced its LG-KC780, a slim 8 megapixel camera phone with special features that make it ideal for shooting portraits.

The LG-KC780 is a slim slider phone at just 13.9 mm thick, but manages to include a large 2.4-inch widescreen LCD. The phone is designed to ensure that its myriad camera features are convenient and easy to use. A Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens ensures that the LG-KC780's camera takes high quality photos that are sharp and clear.

There are not many details about the LG KC780 now, but it seems genuine as it has already passed through the US FCC website. Among the little specification details we now is the LG KC780 have quad-band GSM support, but unfortunately no 3G. The LG-KC780 will also have Bluetooth and a microSD card slot plus 30fps video recording ( the video resolution is not yet clear). We are really hoping though that this one will look better in reality than what's pictured here. It will be launched in markets most probably from November 2008.

Other functionality includes light sensitivity up to ISO 1600, a built-in image Stabiliser , D1 video recording and motion sensor gaming. It's not short of natty gimmicks either - the Smile Shot mode automatically triggers the shutter when it determines that the subject is smiling, while Beauty Mode allows users to remove any imperfections, ensuring faces appear bright and clear in photos.

NOKIA 5800 (Tube)

Friday, October 10, 2008

Nokia 5800, previously known as Tube, gained much attention because it was the first nokia answer to Apple & iPhone - not a rival , but a phone with similar looks and interface. Touchscreen thumb-controlled devices are getting more and more popular this days , and Nokia's first attempt in this market - Nokia 5800 release - promises to be successful one. As was announced earlier, at October 2 Nokia finally presented its first multimedia touchscreen smartphone on Symbian - Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic most interesting side is that it is working on a first Symbian S60 made especially for touchscreen control and big resolutions - S60 5th Edition. It is designed to be controlled either by thumbs or stylus, with ability to choose what you prefer the most (unlike Windows Mobile , S60 5th Edition is fully optimized for thumb usage although , you can take the stylus and work with it with no problems. On Windows Mobile all thumb operating features are just a shell that works above stylus - oriented OS ). Interesting enough, Nokia oriented this smartphone not as a premium class smartphone but as a middle - class music phone.
It comes with 3.2 inched sensor display with 640 x 360 resolution, which is bigger than the iPhone's and is capable of displaying movies or images very crisp and bright, 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics ,autofocus and double LED flashlight , GPS. Wireless features include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, which, in combination with its high-resolution display, makes 5800 great for web surfing, Built-in accelerometer adjusts image on screen if the position of smartphone is changed from portrait to landscape mode, this feature is present in almost every modern multimedia smartphone, so it is not a WOW factor anymore.

While aimed at music lovers, smartphone has aii that needed for listening in comfort - 3.5 minijack slot for connecting almost every model of headphones to the device ( no adapters or proorietary accessories is needed; powerful multimedia player that runs smoothly and benefits hugely from the display's size-album arts look lovely, especially if saved in high resolution; expandable memory via microSD cards - up to 16 GB is supported, 8GB card is bundled with the phone. Text input is done fully via touchscreen and virtual keyboard it has two modes of operations , one for thumb input and one for stylus. Needless to say , phone supports 3G networks and has all that is needed for video calls.

First version of this interesting smartphone will be released pretty soon - models in black, red, and blue colors will be sold for attractive price - 279 Euro ( approximately 380 US Dollars), with special edition "Nokia Comes With Music" launching in the beginning of 2009. It is curious , how it will be compatible with great amount of S60 applications and games that are already released. In any case, except to see many great applications written to use all of Nokia Tube possibilities.

JVC EVERIO GZ-MS100

Monday, September 29, 2008

Someday all movies will be on the internet and, if current trends persist, will last only 10 minutes. Budding auteurs can prepare for this future with this camera, which records videos to an SD card (not included) and has a special upload button that cuts off the video at the 10-minute mark to confirm to YouTube's rules, and then automatically uploads it to You Tube when the camera is connected to a PC. It has a 35x optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch screen with a touch - sensitive scroll pad on the side for selecting options and scrolling through video.

This is certainly the best performer of that category, and performance ranks higher with us than any other quality. But it may not be your top priority. If you want a camcorder that can take a beating and be replaced cheaply, you may very well opt for the Sony or Flip. Also we didn't like the handling much, so if you a great all purpose camcorder there are better options.
It costs $350 (as on 5th sep 2008)

SAMSUNG YP-P2

Saturday, September 6, 2008

This is a revolutionary media player all set to break the iPod's monopoly. The cool3-inch LCD screen is totally touchscreen , capable of displaying 30 frames per second, in 16:9 aspect ratio. The touchscreen interface is very much like that of iPod. It is finger tip sensitive and doesn't respond to other objects. The player also supports pairing with mobile phones . It has plenty of multimedia features . The media sofware will convert anything although it takes quite sometime . The battery life is not bad , about 3 hours.
The main menu is a good place to start delving into the features of the samsung P2.

SONY VAIO TZ38

Friday, September 5, 2008

The latest in the TZ series is as impressive as its predecessors. The slim, lightweight design is simply sublime, with a thin frame that manages to mesh the lid , keyboard area and underside in a very sturdy frame . The screen is vintage Sony 11.1 inch offering vivid colours contrast and brightness. The construction material is very soild (carbon fiber) and offers a feelingof solidness that one would not ordinarily expects from a laptop of this size.

Moderately equipped, it offers a dual - layer DVD-RW , fingerprint reader, 2USB ports , 1.3 MP camera , spirnt mobile broadband wireless wan, Firewire port , Bluetooth and a 3-in-1 media card reader. It sports an intel C2D UV 7700 processor and its graphics are powered by intel GM950 graphics subsystem .

The subtle touches don't only end at the body. The power button and recharge jacks have been seamlessly integrated on either side of the laptop's hinges. The lid is happily devoid of the shiney mirror finish that everyone is fond of , and instead offers a very elegant brownish black finish that screams class.

SONY AR69GU

Thursday, September 4, 2008

This one has been designed as a full - blown desktop replacement. Its lid sports a glossy black finish that extends to the area around the LCD panel, giving it an elegant look with sturdy plastic.
It comes loaded , in keeping with its premium status - an Intel C2D T8300 processor (clock speed 2.4 GHz), 4 GB of ram, AND 500gb of storage space. Connectivity wise it offers just about anything and everthing including a Blu-ray record/playback drive.

The keyboard may be a tad small, but it offers a good working experience. The keys offer a good feedback and are quite pleasant to type on. The only downside is that the keys sometimes doesn't allow a register click. This is simply because the keyboard employs a deep-click system, for which the key has to be pounded a little harder than usual. While this is not a big issue, touch typist may sometimes see funny errors.

The LCD PANEL on the AR69GU is a standard TFT-LCD. This was a disappointment, as we were hoping it would have a backlit LED PANEL. The current panel is not bad though . It offers a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1200 and offers excellent color and contrast. The black levels were not as deep as in the Acer 8920, but they were good enough for us to enjoy a full HD without any issues.

LG VU

Cool looking phones are a dime a dozen these days. But what about a phone that can stream live television , complete with a TiVo-esque programme guide? The LG VU is a smart phone with AT&T's Mobile TV service built in. The entire front of the phone is touch-sensitive and a single charge provides upto three hours of talktime , or 10 days in standby mode. The mobile TV feature turns the picture sideways and offers a seletion of channels. The video quality is fairly good - better than the average YouTube video. Selection depends on your coverage area. It supports Bluetooth wireless networking and can stream digital.
It costs $299(as on 10th August 2008)

SONY ERICSSON C902

Monday, August 25, 2008

THE hidden camera is a unique feature. When the 5MP camera is activated, a set of touch sensitive shortcuts (for camera options) appears all around the display. The keys take some getting used to. 3G enabled, it can offer speeds up to 3.6MBPS. Other features include a set of enterainment features like MusicDJ,VideoDJ, and PhotoDJ and Face Warp. Google Maps are preloaded. The biggest drawback: just 2 hours and 30 minutes of total talkaime.

HTC TOUCH DIAMOND

THE Touch brand has certainly evolved. It is easily the lightest Windows Mobile phone in the market at 110g.The front comprises the 2.8 inch touchscreen with the lower band housing the four function keys and the navigation button. Like other models , this one too comes heavily customised. Foremost is the finger sensatitve touchpad that's actually big enough for your fingers. You can type a message, number,or a mail using a QWERTY type keypad, or your regular numeric pad. With 4GB memory, the music sounds much better with a heavy duty Bluetooth headset. It also has an FM radio. The camera is 3.2 MP with autofocus. The phone supports Wi-Fi and advanced GPRS.(Price -Rs.27500 as on 10th august 2008)
